WELCOME TO THE ST. PETER’S CHILDREN’S CHOIR
The purpose of this choir will be to enhance the worship experience for young children through the joy of music. Children will experience vocally appropriate sacred music, proper singing techniques, and have the opportunity to be part of the Liturgy during the 9:00 or 11:00 a.m. Masses.
ABOUT THE CHOIR
The choir is currently open to children in rising Kindergarten through third grade. It is our hope to eventually grow the music program to include a choir for young children (2.5-4 years) and older students (4th-5th grade.) Children will attend a rehearsal from 10:30-11:00 a.m. on the first and third Sunday of each month. Participation in the choir requires attendance at rehearsals—with such a short amount of rehearsal time it is important for every child to be involved. The children will perform at either the 9:00 am. or 11:00 a.m. Mass periodically throughout the year.
Emphasis will be placed on the child’s worship experience and the joy that music brings to the Liturgy. No prior music experience is required to join.

REHEARSALS
The first rehearsal will be February 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the confirmation room in Benedict Hall. Additional rehearsals will occur on February 21, March 7, March 21, and March 28. The children will sing at the 9:00 a.m. Easter Sunday Mass on April 4, 2010.
