Letters for Bread for the World

Each year, Bread for the World encourages Christians to make one or more Offering of Letters to their Congresspersons to support programs that end hunger and to go to Washington on an annual Lobby Day ( this year on June 13th ).
Join in this year’s Offering of Letters on the weekend of June 10-11 in Biss Hall.

Over the decades BFW has successfully lobbied members of Congress to support programs to reduce hunger throughout the world. “Global hunger has continued to decline in the world, albeit gradually, to an estimated 795 million undernourished people, or a reduction of 167 million hungry people over the last ten years.” Unfortunately, war, civil unrest and refugees often increase the number of the hungry in places that had seen progress.

As Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25, “I was hungry and you gave me food.”
