A note from Linda Miller
Volunteer & Community Resource Coordinator of the Men's Shelter of Charlotte
Hello- Thank you for your commitment to Men's Shelter of Charlotte! Wanted to update everyone that provides the meal for Men's Shelter. We are experiencing a high volume of men that require our services. The average per night this month has been over 500 per both Tryon Campus and Statesville Campus. Any given night there is 280 at Tryon for meals and 260 at Statesville for meals. We understand that budgets are stretched. We want to make sure there is enough food for the men. Please let us know if you need us to help with additional food to add to your menu to increase quantities. We are happy to do so.
The shelter has traditionally had more men during the winter months and we are expecting an increase when the weather turns colder. We do have some back-up plans to make sure we accommodate all men needing shelter. We will share that with you at a later date.
We have added some new equipment to our kitchen - new convection ovens, new commercial dishwasher, new fryer and we may have another tilt skillet.
Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you and your group. Thank you again for your constant commitment and caring heart!
Sincerely,
Linda Miller
