Your Prayers Can Save Lives!

Charlotte is joining more than 80 other cities in the national “40 Days for Life” prayer vigil.  This peaceful time of prayer has had a profound impact on our community.  During the last 40-day vigil in Charlotte, 12 babies were saved in the first week alone!  Please show your support for life and come and pray, even if just for one hour.  The vigil will be held from September 26th – November 4th in front of the abortion clinic at 700 E. Hebron Street in Charlotte

St. Peter's has been asked to cover the following 6 hours each week:  Fridays 5:00pm – 8:00pm and Saturdays, 5:00am – 8:00am (Security provided at these times.)  But other times are available, too! The sign up sheet is available in the Narthex.  For more information, call Helen Scintoh at 704-641-7105 or go to www.40days4life.org

Also, everyone is welcome to the vigil kickoff rally that will be held on Wednesday, Sept 26th, 7:15 pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  Representative Thom Tillis will be the guest speaker!

"In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind” Job 12:10

“Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end.  God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstances claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.” CCC 2258

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” Matthew 5:9

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before your were born I consecrated you;” Jeremiah 1:5

Mother Teresa to America:

"The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself.  And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"   (Speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, February 3, 1994)
