YAM Lenten Rosary Club

This Lent I'm proposing forming the YAM Lenten Rosary Club.  Members of this club pledge to pray the rosary (individually) daily during Lent.  Throughout Lent we will collect prayer intentions from our YAM and everyone in the club will pray for those intentions daily.  I encourage you to not list all the reasons in your mind that might discourage participation, and instead focus on finding ways to make the time to pray for the intentions of our family and friends in the YAM.

If you are interested in joining the YAM Lenten Rosary Club, please send me an e-mail at ncdangelo@yahoo.com.  For those that are interested, I will also provide the "how to" guide that I pass out at our monthly Rosary sessions.  Please e-mail prayer intentions to ncdangelo@yahoo.com.

Preservation Pledge Drive - Kick Off Event

Please come join the entire St. Peter's community as we have our Preservation Pledge Drive kick off event at the Palmer Building (2601 E. 7th Street) on Sunday, February 14th from 6:15-8:15 PM.  The cost is $60 per person which includes dinner, drinks, prizes and entertainment.

As everyone knows, our church, which is the oldest catholic church in Charlotte, is in desperate need of external repairs.  Please help support the preservation through this event and the many others that are to come throughout the next 2 years.

So many of you have commented to me over the years how much you enjoy Mass at St. Peter's and how much you like our church.  Contributing ensures that you and those that join our parish in the future can enjoy the beautiful church that we are so blessed to have.

For additional information, please see the home page of our website at www.stpeterscatholic.org or e-mail Dee Grano at dgrano@lightfactory.org.

Ignatian Lenten Retreats

Please come join us for two Ignatian retreats at the beginning and end of Lent.  The first will occur on February 20th and the second on March 27th.  Both start at 8:30 AM in Biss Hall and end at Noon.  There is no charge for either of these retreats.

From the website, ignatianspirituality.com, Ignatian spirituality is a spirituality for everyday life.  It insists that God is present in our world and active in our lives.  It is a pathway to deeper prayer, good decisions guided by keen discernment, and an active life of service to others.

As those that have attended the Young Adults retreats know, the retreats typically involve meditation and contemplation.  We place ourselves in a situation typically with Christ and/or others and seek to experience that moment and reflect upon our feelings as we go through the retreat.

For those that have attended, you know what a great experience this will be and for those that have never experienced Ignatian Spirituality, you don't know what you're missing.

Please come out and join us for these retreats as we look to have a strong beginning and end to our Lenten journey!
