Concluding our Advent series, the Care for Creation ministry would like to provide another means to open our treasures to those in need, as the Magi did. Environmental Justice is one of the four advocacy priorities that the U.S. Jesuit Office of Justice and Ecology and the Ignatian Solidarity Network have put forward as a new administration is soon to be sworn in. As the leading economy and a major influence on the world stage, the U.S. should accelerate the transition to clean energy to mitigate climate change, re-enter the Paris Agreement, return to regulatory measures that cut-down on fossil fuel emissions and pollution, invest in sustainable infrastructure, and provide additional funding for communities most impacted by environmental injustice. As legislation is proposed in Congress, the Care for Creation Team will keep you abreast of how we can help our legislators care for the common good of all people and all of creation.
