Families with children preparing for the celebration of a sacrament are entering a special time in the life of their family.
It is a time to reflect on the meaning of the sacrament and the ways in which their family life reflects its meaning.
Children in the Diocese of Charlotte are able to celebrate their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion during second grade, provided that it is their second consecutive year of faith formation, or they attend a MACS school. Children attend weekly Sunday classes from 10:15 – 11:30 am in Benedict Hall. Children who attend Catholic School (MACS) will attend 6 retreats only since they receive faith formation at school.
If you have questions, please contact Cathy Chiappetta in the Office of Faith Formation at Cathy Chiappetta or 704-332-2901 ext. 230. Preparation for First Reconciliation takes place in the fall and First Communion in the spring. All students must enroll in the parish sacramental program, whether enrolled in MACS schools or a parish faith formation program.
