Godparent Requirements:
A godparent's responsibility is not only to be present at the celebration of their godchild’s baptism, but also to assume, through word and example, a lifelong responsibility to help their godchild lead a Christian life in harmony with the baptism they have received. This lifelong responsibility includes leading their godchild to a life of prayer, to knowledge of their faith, to loving service to others, and to reception of Eucharist and Confirmation. Preparation for First Communion takes place in the spring.
Children in the Diocese of Charlotte are able to celebrate their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion during second grade, provided it is their second consecutive year of faith formation or they attend a MACS school.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of qualified Eucharistic Ministers who visit home-bound parishioners on a short-term or long-term basis to bring the Eucharist and offer encouragement and friendship.
